⬡ HawkLens

This policy covers the HawkLens Monitor browser extension and the HawkLens service that receives its signals. HawkLens is an interview-integrity tool used by hiring teams during scheduled remote job interviews.

The extension only does anything after a candidate enters an interview token issued by the recruiter and accepts the consent notice shown in the extension popup. It monitors only for the duration of that single interview, and the candidate can stop it at any time from the popup.

While an interview session is active, the extension records:

• Tab and window switching — the number of switches, and the hostname of the destination (for example example.com). Full URLs, query strings, and page titles are not recorded.
• Keyboard activity — how many keystrokes occur and their timing rhythm. The keys themselves are never recorded; HawkLens is not a keylogger.
• Paste and copy activity — how often these occur and how much text is involved. Where a single paste is 40 characters or longer, the pasted text itself (up to the first 2,000 characters) is transmitted so the answer can be checked for originality. Shorter pastes are recorded as a length only.
• Browser environment signals — indicators such as automation flags, graphics-renderer strings, and the presence of virtual camera devices, used to detect remote-control or virtual-machine setups.

Camera analysis requires its own, additional consent, and declining it does not stop the interview. If it is enabled, video is processed entirely on the candidate's own device. Camera frames are never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.

Only aggregate results leave the device: eye-contact and head-movement scores, a coarse look-away direction, and the name of the camera device in use.

• Browsing history outside an active interview session
• Full page content, form values, or passwords
• Email, chat, or other personal messages
• Geographic location
• Financial, payment, or health information

The extension is inactive outside a consented interview session. When monitoring is not running, it collects nothing at all.

Signals are converted into integrity scores and shown to the hiring team that scheduled that specific interview. They are used only to assess the integrity of that interview.

HawkLens does not sell this data, does not share it with third parties outside the hiring organisation, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Scores are decision-support for a human reviewer. They are not used to automatically reject a candidate.

Interview records and their associated signals are kept for as long as the hiring organisation that scheduled the interview needs them for its recruitment process. There is no automatic expiry: records are not deleted on a fixed schedule, and are kept until deletion is requested.

A candidate or a hiring organisation can request deletion at any time — either through the hiring organisation, or directly through the contact link below. We action verified requests within 30 days, and confirm once the interview record and its associated signals have been removed.

Depending on where a candidate lives, they may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete their personal data, and to withdraw consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time during an interview by clicking Stop Monitoring in the extension popup, or by removing the extension.
